Zendaya reinvents the classic polo and mod skirt combo with a daring twist, perfect for the Challengers press circuit.
Zendaya and her longtime stylist, Law Roach, continue to captivate with their impeccable fashion choices during the whirlwind press circuit for “Challengers.” Throughout the promotional tour for her upcoming movie, “Dune 2,” the actress has consistently demonstrated the art of method dressing. Pairing preppy, court-ready ensembles with retro-inspired beauty, Zendaya and Roach consistently elevate each look to the next level. Unsurprisingly, Zendaya’s latest outfit on the Challengers tour proved to be yet another winning addition to her already impressive lineup, offering a contemporary twist on classic styles.
At a Challengers event in Los Angeles on Saturday, April 20, Zendaya made heads turn in a custom Jacquemus pink dress featuring a strategically placed cutout that showcased her toned midriff. The dress was a bold reinvention of the classic polo and ’60s-era full mod skirt, with an edgy, ab-baring flair. A thin ribbon elegantly connected her cropped pastel pink polo top with her extremely low-rise skirt. While the preppy top was buttoned up in homage to the movie’s tennis storyline, its cropped design with a ring embellishment added a modern touch. Paired with an A-line midi skirt that boasted a full design, the ensemble exuded retro charm, barely brushing the top of her ankles and offering a glimpse of her matching pointed pumps adorned with coquette ribbons. Embracing the mod aesthetic, Zendaya complemented her ensemble with a pale pink French manicure and a hairdo reminiscent of Priscilla Presley’s iconic bouffant, adorned with a baby pink ribbon. Her golden waves added volume and glamour to the look. Keeping her makeup in the same rose pink hue, Zendaya added a touch of drama with thick black winged eyeliner and bold brows, perfectly balancing sophistication with a hint of playfulness.
As “Challengers” gears up for its release on April 26, critics have already begun showering the film with praise. In the movie, Zendaya portrays a tennis pro entangled in a love triangle with two other players played by Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor. With the end of the press tour in sight, Zendaya’s era of serving winning, tennis-inspired looks may be drawing to a close. Nevertheless, fashion enthusiasts will undoubtedly cherish each ace ensemble while they still can, celebrating Zendaya’s undeniable style prowess.
