Halsey’s desi avatar steals the show at Lollapalooza India, Mumbai 2024.

Lollapalooza India 2024, held over the weekend in Mumbai, showcased an exceptional lineup of artists across four stages. The performances by renowned acts such as the Jonas Brothers, Halsey, Sting, and One Republic captivated the audience with their mesmerizing performances. Beyond the music, the event offered several highlights, from Nick Jonas affectionately referred to as the beloved ‘jiju,’ to pop sensation Halsey’s embracing of a desi avatar, and the presence of Anoushka Shankar.

Halsey exuded her rockstar persona donning a custom hand-embroidered crop top from Saaksha & Kinni, adorned with traditional Gujarati thread and mirror work. She paired this with a textured plaid skirt from the London-based label Chopova Lowena, styled by Lyn Alyson in collaboration with content creator Shereen Sikka. However, the pièce de résistance was the silver trinkets from Tribe Amrapali, including the Peridot pear earrings and the mirror cuff, which perfectly complemented the mirror work on her top and reflected the light beautifully.

Silver holds a significant place in the jewellery of nomadic tribes like the Banjaras from Rajasthan. Variants such as oxidized silver have become increasingly popular choices among the masses. The statement yet minimalist jewellery seamlessly integrates with the singer’s ensemble, adding a touch of glamour. Amrapali’s Tribe collection, based in Jaipur and favored by celebrities, has played a pivotal role in popularizing traditional tribal jewellery from various regions of the country, infusing it with a contemporary appeal.
